WNDE Names Three New Partners
WNDE Names Three New Partners–White Nelson Diehl Evans is pleased to announce that Steven Combs, David Forman and Sean Thorstenson have been named partners. With their promotions, the firm now has 21 partners. Combs and Thorstenson work out of the firm’s Irvine headquarters; Forman works in the firm’s Carlsbad office.
“These three members of the White Nelson Diehl Evans team are capable professionals who have contributed much to our practice,” observed Dave Doran, Managing Partner. “They’ve done excellent work on behalf of our clients, and we’re confident that they’ll continue to excel now that they’re partners.”
Steven Combs, CPA, is a tax and advisory services partner. He has 13 years of public accounting experience, all of which have been with White Nelson Diehl Evans. His responsibilities primarily include providing tax compliance, planning and consulting services for private middle-market businesses and individuals.
Combs has a diverse background with extensive experience in corporate taxation including consolidated and multi-state taxation. Other areas include mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, tax examinations and appeals, financial accounting for income taxes, due diligence, transaction structuring, and individual compliance and planning. His clients span a variety of industries including manufacturers, retailers, medical and personal services businesses, and technology companies. Combs serves large, middle-market companies located in Orange County and throughout Southern California.
He earned a B.A. degree in accounting from Cal State University Fullerton in 1999. He earned a M.S. degree in taxation from Cal State Fullerton in 2006. He earned his CPA designation in 2002. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA).

David Forman, CPA, is a tax advisory and audit services partner. He has worked in the accounting field 19 years, all of that time with WNDE. He specializes in individual and corporate taxation as well as governmental and non-profit accounting and auditing. He also helps clients with information technology and design of small business accounting systems.
Forman earned his B.A. degree from UC San Diego in 1987. He earned his CPA designation in 1996. His professional affiliations include membership in the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA).
Forman is pleased to have spent his entire professional career with WNDE. He remarked, “I work with outstanding people, I enjoy my interaction with our clients and I have every confidence that our firm will have a bright future.”
Sean Thorstenson, CPA, is a tax and advisory services partner. He has 17 years of public accounting experience, 15 years of which have been with White Nelson Diehl Evans. His diverse background includes extensive experience in corporate and partnership taxation, individual compliance and planning for high net-worth taxpayers, including estate and trust planning, oil and gas investments, payroll, sales and property tax compliance. He works with all privately-held businesses mainly in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, professional services and/or real estate industries.
Thorstenson earned a B.S. degree in accounting from Chapman University in 1995. He earned a M.S. degree in taxation from Cal State Fullerton in 2006. He earned his CPA designation in 2000. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).
