Partner Profile – Greg Coleman
Greg Coleman, CPA joined White Nelson Diehl Evans LLP in 1993, straight out of college, and has spent his entire public accounting career with the firm. He earned his CPA designation in 1999.
In his role as an audit and assurance partner, Greg’s primary responsibilities include the oversight of attestation consulting and financial services for privately held, middle-market companies. He is also very active in firm recruiting across local college campuses. In his interactions with both clients and colleagues, Greg strives to communicate the depth of his care via actions, words, and servant leadership.
“I’m grateful for the long-lasting friendships that I have developed with my colleagues and the strong relationships—both personal and professional—I’ve built with my clients over the past 26 years,” said Greg, when asked to describe what he loves about working at WNDE. “I love the relationship side of the business and the ability to work with professional business owners to help them reach their goals, both for their organizations and personally.”
Greg’s father was a CPA and inspired him to pursue a career in public accounting. “He always told me to not just look for a job, but to find a career opportunity and make the most of it,” explained Greg. “That’s why I started my career at WNDE and why I plan to finish my career with WNDE.” In order to make his career aspirations a reality, Greg studied hard at the University of Miami (FL), earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1993.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Greg attended college on a baseball scholarship. He even participated in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. These days, Greg follows college football, baseball, soccer, and lacrosse. His favorite teams are those of his alma mater and the Anaheim Angels.
In addition to following sports, Greg enjoys listening to music, particularly classic rock and ‘80s metal. His favorite groups include AC/DC, Metallica, and Guns ‘n’ Roses. Though he hasn’t been much of a traveler for most of his life, he’s starting to get into it. Greg’s ideal vacation is pretty simple—“For me, the best way to relax is sitting on the beach with a cold beverage in hand.”
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Greg now lives in Huntington Beach. He has two adult sons. The elder graduated from Whittier College in 2018 and currently works in finance. The younger recently graduated from Greg’s alma mater, Servite High School, and will be attending the University of San Diego this fall.
Greg’s favorite quote does a fantastic job of summing up his outlook on life, both at work and beyond: “Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.”
