Management Profile – Scott Jones
Celebrating his 10th year at White Nelson Diehl Evans LLP, Scott Jones is responsible for steering the firm’s business development and marketing efforts. As the Director of Practice Development, Scott enjoys interacting directly with CFOs and business owners, and developing strategic client relationships for the firm. He takes great pride in pairing firm resources with client needs to provide solutions that help improve their bottom line.
Scott stands behind a personal service philosophy to always put the client first, stating “I focus on listening to their needs and objectives so I can help provide practical solutions.” He added, “I also make it my goal to consistently deliver honest and reliable service.”
Scott’s extensive experience includes business development for a variety of professional service and consulting organizations within the financial, technology and real estate sectors. In 2008, upon closing his real estate lending business due to the financial crisis, he decided to turn to the accounting industry, where he could leverage his experience developing professional and advisory services in a more stable industry
“My experience at WNDE has been great,” said Scott. “I enjoy the people and environment at the firm, and the challenge of filling two distinct and separate roles. I truly enjoy wearing the Marketing Director hat part-time, as well as my primary role of acquiring new clients and helping the partners grow our firm.” He added, “the best part of the job is all the interesting companies we see and businesses leaders I have the opportunity to meet.”
When asked what he would do if he didn’t have to sleep Scott’s initial thought was that he might work at night so he would have more time during the day to do other things. He also said he would spend more time reading – sharing that his favorite book is the Bible.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from Pepperdine University, as well as multiple management and marketing certifications from the University of California, Irvine.
Scott takes an active role in the community, currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County chapters of both the Risk Management Association (RMA) and Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He is also currently serving as Co-Chair of the ACG Awards Program.
Born in Texas and raised in Southern California, Scott resides in Aliso Viejo with his wife of 27 years, Robin. Together, they have two sons – one is a high school senior and the other is currently training to be a firefighter-paramedic. In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hiking, visiting the beach, and watching football at every level.
