WNDE Staff Volunteers for Boys & Girls Club of Tustin Carnival
Twenty-five WNDE staff members volunteered for the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin Carnival on November 18. The event offered children the opportunity to play carnival-style games and earn prizes; a highlight of the day was a game of dodge ball requested by the children.
WNDE staff members had participated at similar Boys & Girls Club events in previous years; WNDE Partner Brian Wilterink is a Boys & Girls Club of Tustin board member and thought the event would be a good fit for the WNDE staff. Erin Johnson, a tax senior manager with WNDE who helped organize the event, observed that the carnival “truly benefitted our neighbors since the club is only a couple miles away from our office.”
She continued, “The event was really fun for everyone involved and the staff at the Club could not have been more helpful. Our newer, first-time volunteering staff members expressed how much fun they had and that they could not wait to see what we do in the summer.”
Other recent charitable activities WNDE staff have been involved with include making Christmas gift bags for Senior Serve for needy seniors and “adopting” families from the Child Abuse Prevention Center of Orange County, providing such gifts as hygiene items and a double stroller requested by a mother.
