Fifty-five participants from WNDE joined in the 23rd Orange County Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, including seven WNDE partners, raising money to fund a cure for breast cancer and in memory of those lost to the disease. Twenty thousand participated in the Race for the Cure, which was held at Fashion Island, Newport Beach, raising about $2 million. The firm reimbursed participants for the $35 registration fee and the WNDE team raised $7,300.

“We were all pleased to participate, walking side-by-side with our co-workers, getting to know them better outside of the office,” remarked Judy Hildreth, who served as team captain.

WNDE has participated in the event previously, but the loss of partner Lynne Houri to breast cancer last year gave renewed commitment to the effort, believes Judy. She said, “We were all really touched by it.”

She noted that another WNDE employee is battling the disease, and participated in the Race. Judy added, “We look forward to going again next year.”
