Marjorie Wilson, Senior Tax Manager in WNDE’s Carlsbad office, was honored at the 2015 Woman’s Leadership Forum in San Francisco on April 24. She was nominated for CalCPA’s Emerging Leaders Award, defining her as a professional who has made significant contributions to her peers and community by demonstrating strong leadership characteristics through the creation and implementation of unique initiatives and involvement.

Marjorie graduated from San Diego State with a B.S. in Finance. She worked in mortgage banking for 10 years before switching to the accounting field. She earned her CPA designation in 2002 and after taking some time off to raise her children, joined the WNDE team in 2006. Marjorie’s primary areas of practice are providing tax planning, consulting and compliance to Closely-Held businesses and their owners as well as high net worth individuals and nonprofit organizations. She also has extensive experience in foreign activities reporting for U.S. taxpayers and multi-state tax reporting.

She says, “I enjoy my work with WNDE, but what I like best are the people – from clients to coworkers to other professionals. What’s most rewarding is helping someone solve a problem or encouraging them to reach their goal.”

Marjorie is married to husband Danny and has three sons. She has been active on her local PTA Board, volunteers for the Carlsbad Education Foundation and is an active participant in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad. She has taken part in everything from helping in fundraising to organizing events and of course any accounting concerns. In her personal time, she enjoys golf, running and going to the beach.

Marjorie was “flattered” to have been nominated for the Emerging Leaders Award. She said, “It was unexpected. It’s nice to be recognized for what you love to do.”
