Thomas Miyano is an Audit Manager with WNDE.  In this role, he is involved in managing multiple engagements, review of staff work for proper documentation, scheduling staff, resolution of technical issues, staff training and evaluation of financial statements and notes for adequate and proper disclosure.  He also seeks to maintain good rapport with clients, attends board meetings and is available for consulting as the need arises.  And, he assists with WNDE’s marketing services and maintains networking relationships to grow WNDE’s business.

Thomas began working with WNDE as an intern in 2007.  He said, “The people drew me in in the beginning.  WNDE always had a great group of employees that produced a very family-oriented and fun environment.”

Thomas MiyanoAs his responsibilities grew, he continued, he found it “interesting to be able to work with many different industries from manufacturing firms to cemeteries.  It is rewarding to build a productive relationship with clients and learn what it is that makes their industries tick and their businesses work.”

Thomas was born in Los Angeles, and grew up in different places in Southern California.

He earned a BA in international business with a concentration in Japanese and took graduate courses in Accountancy at California State University Fullerton.  He chose accounting, he said, because “I felt that accounting was a chance at a good career.”

Before coming to WNDE, he worked for a large Japanese import/export firm and a small accounting firm in downtown Los Angeles.

Thomas lives in Costa Mesa.  He enjoys cooking.  He said, “I find myself getting creative with what is in the fridge and watching videos of recipes online.”  He also enjoys hikes, traveling and snowboarding.
