He is also responsible for and leads the firm’s HR and Benefits function and has oversight over the firm’s Marketing and Social Media strategy. He joined the firm in 2015.
Scott was born in Honolulu and grew up in San Diego. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from USC, and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He is a member of the CPA Firm Management Association.
Of his education and career, he said, “I’ve never viewed my education or professional experience as a straight line. I started as an engineering major at USC and finished as a finance major. I’ve made proactive, calculated steps in my career to achieve advancement and to continue to be challenged.”
Before coming to WNDE, he worked for a variety of prominent companies and professional firms, including Houlihan Lokey, BDO, McGladrey, Coca-Cola, myCFO, Ingram Micro and The Walt Disney Company. His work experience has benefited him since coming to WNDE. He said, “In a partnership structure you have to be flexible and be used to working within a ‘matrixed’ environment where there isn’t necessarily a ‘top-down’ structure. Having now worked within professional service firms for the past 15 years I am accustomed to that environment.”
He’s excited about WNDE’s prospects for continued success. He explained, “I believe WNDE is well poised for the future. The succession planning at the firm is solid. We have great younger partners and a great pipeline of managers to continue to drive our success.”
He continued, “As the industry continues to consolidate, it offers us opportunities for strategic acquisitions that will assist with our growth on top of our own internal, organic efforts.”
Scott lives in Huntington Beach with his wife and three teenage sons. They are active in sports, particularly golf, which he also plays. He is also a parent representative at the Huntington Beach City School District for the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program.
