Must have demonstrated leadership experience, exceptional communication skills and strong analytical abilities obtained from related employment, leadership roles, community involvement or internship positions.

Position Purpose

Our juniors function as an integral member of our audit team, becoming involved in various aspects of the financial statement and audit review and compilation procedures. The audit junior is responsible for learning the fundamentals of the public accounting field and provides assistance within the client service team while developing technical and analytical skills.

Position Responsibilities

Audit Juniors will:

    • Become familiar with the rules, regulations and Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA, pronouncements of the FASB and when assigned to governmental engagements, the GAO AND GASB.
    • Perform file setup, trial balance and lead sheet setup
    • Reconcile client records to trial balance, which may include analytical procedures, and performs schedule computations
    • Review and update client financials and summarize client agreements
    • Learn to effectively communicate with clients to receive information necessary to complete engagements
    • Communicate engagement status with the engagement lead in a timely and ongoing basis
    • Meet rising standard of quality control
    • Demonstrate time management and organizational skills
    • Attend Continuing Professional Education (CPE) training as scheduled

    • Develops and maintains sound working relationships with administrative associates, peers and management to cultivate teamwork
    • Learn and upholds the firm values, policies and procedures
    • Takes primary responsibility for achieving set goals
    • Participates in departmental and other scheduled meetings
    • Participates in meeting with assigned mentor and the mentor program
    • Performs other accounting, auditing and administrative duties as assigned

    Information Technology and Resource Requirements

    • Learns and utilizes software and technology applications adopted by the firm

    • Complies with all firm policies, procedures, and position responsibilities listed above
    • Represents self and firm in a professional manner in conduct and appearance
    • Ability to travel occasionally (approximately 15%)
    • Achieves minimum total hours and billable hours as established by Department Director
    • Attains CPA license
    Education and Skills
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, business or related field and minimum accounting units as required for eligibility to obtain CPA license
    • Demonstrated work experience and or internship/leadership experience obtained through related positions (i.e. campus activities, leadership roles, employment or community service.)
    • In the process of, or actively pursuing CPA license
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Good understanding, comprehension, and ability to articulate auditing and accounting concepts
    • Emerging leadership, project management, and team building skills
    • Efficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
    • Excellent research skills and analytical abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
