WNDE Employees Support Women Helping Women
Thirty employees of Irvine-based accounting firm White Nelson Diehl Evans (WNDE), including four partners and 12 newly hired employees, participated in an event in support of Women Helping Women (WHW) on January 17. The group sorted clothes for WHW’s “Quarterly Saturday Sale,” which was held the following Saturday.
“It was a successful event,” remarked WNDE employee Kyle Stevens. “We were able to build camaraderie with our fellow employees, and make a positive difference in our community.”
WNDE staff member Erin Johnson added, “We really like WHW’s mission. Rather than providing, per se, a fish for a day, the organization helps individuals learn to fish for a lifetime through employment in various careers. They give those they serve the opportunity to become self-sufficient, and a way for them to be proud of their accomplishments.”
WHW staff member Robyn Williams reported that a “record-breaking” number of shoppers came to the Quarterly Saturday Sale, and that WHW raised $12,000 to support “challenged job seekers on their journey to self-sufficiency.” Williams remarked, “This is the most we have raised since we moved to our location in Santa Ana. [The WNDE] team was an instrumental part of our success.”
Santa Ana-based nonprofit Women Helping Women/Men2Work helps empower disadvantaged women and men to achieve economic self-sufficiency through employment success. Founded in 1993, WHW’s services include providing its clients with professional clothing and image consulting services, job placement assistance, educational workshops, computer training and transportation. WHW serves over 5,000 clients annually. For more information, visit www.whw.org.
